Job Description
The Senior Grants Consultant provides high-value consultation, project management and grant proposal development services to Northern Light Health and its members in working to advance priority initiatives through external institutional funding. This individual works with system leaders, teams, and external partners from concept development to identifying, cultivating, and soliciting grant funding from government, foundation, and other sources to support program, capital, and research initiatives. They lead a dynamic portfolio of individual projects and provides mentorship, coaching and support with projects assigned to team members. The Senior Grant Consultant is a vital member of the Institutional Funding Team (IFT) and takes a lead role advancing system priorities through sponsored project development and management; and by qualifying best fit funding opportunities, developing compelling proposals and providing post award orientation and support to NLH clients. This individual will work closely with other grants and fundraising staff, Northern Light Health member organizations, the Northern Light Health Foundation, Clinical Research Center, fiscal services, legal services, program sponsors, and community partners. S/He must be able to work effectively in advance of deadlines and maintain a sense of humor and humility under pressure. Essential job functions include: 1) Serving as a lead grants strategy consultant, conferring with Northern Light Health clients to understand system and member organization needs, and advance goals and priorities for external funding; 2) Working collaboratively with colleagues and establishing a positive and productive team environment; 3) Engaging with external partners and community stakeholders to collaborate in strategic partnership proposals; 4) Ensuring staff establish and sustain positive and productive relationships with funding agencies and philanthropic organizations; 5) Leading the development of complex proposals involving several contributors; 7) Working within funder guidelines to write and prepare quality proposals that advance priority initiatives; 8) Working in advance of deadlines to assure timely submissions 9) Ensure effective engagement of grant services throughout the system; 10) Providing comprehensive post-award support to clients ensuring effective and timely grant deliverables and reporting to funders. 11) Acting as a mentor and providing guidance to team members and internal clients. The Senior Grants Consultant is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Grant Services. Remote work arrangement with some travel may be considered for the right candidate.

- Assures all team members understand NLH system priorities, initiatives, and recent awards that advance proposal development
- Maintains knowledge of national objectives for healthcare reform and evidenced-based models of care to advance development of proposals that are responsive to funder interests
- Researches, identifies and qualifies potential funding opportunities from corporate, foundation, and government sources for fit with system priority initiatives

- Sound analytical, decision making abilities, and problem-solving techniques with ability to prioritize problems and demonstrate resourcefulness in their resolution
- Facility with MS Office software
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years' experience including a progressive record of results with complex federal proposals.
