Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor serves as a resource, subject matter expert, and passionate advocate for the technician workforce at Northern Light Pharmacy State Street. The Technician Supervisor is responsible for the uniform implementation of training and competency evaluations at Northern Light Pharmacy State Street. As appropriate, and under the guidance of the PIC, the Technician Supervisor will support the development of performance improvement plans, serve as one to one for training, and provide guidance and recommendation to the PIC on technician issues. The Technician Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the technician schedule at State Street Pharmacy and allocating coverage based on call outs within their own location. Other responsibilities include support for the Pharmacy Buyer, procedure development and implementation, annual performance evaluations for all technicians at State Street, and providing staffing coverage. Preferred candidates would have an associate degree and 5 years of technician experience with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity. This is a full-time position with weekend coverage required on a rotational basis.
Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, and continually evaluates standardized technician training and competency assessments. Has the ability to adjust communication to meet the needs of the audience and provides appropriate support and constructive feedback as needed.
  • Responsible for managing the technician schedule at State Street Pharmacy. Allocates technician resources to fill unassigned shifts and respond to call outs as they are reported, effectively communicates procedure for PTO requests, and equitably allocates day off requests within State Street Pharmacy.
  • Supports the development of procedures and improved workflows to enhance the experience of pharmacy technicians at Northern Light Pharmacy State Street.
  • Support pharmacy operations by assisting with inventory management tasks, providing pharmacy purchaser coverage, and processing billing claims.
  • Maintains a firm understanding of the concerns and needs of State Street technicians by participating in regular one on one rounding, attending huddles, and soliciting of feedback. Reports feedback, observations, and trends to PIC and local leadership as appropriate.
  • Under the supervision of the PIC and in collaboration with Pharmacy Technician Manager and HR, provide support for all aspects of staff performance improvement planning. This may include assisting with investigations, writing performance improvement plans, and communicating expectations to technicians.
  • Monitors productivity, directs daily workflow, and establishes daily workload pattern, including special projects and downtime tasks.
  • Under the supervision of the PIC and in collaboration with local leadership, HR, and Talent, provide support for initial candidate review, participate in interviews, and provide recommendations to the hiring manager.
  • Leads by example, providing support across all pharmacy technician duties and responsibilities including staffing, weekend rotation, data entry, prescription preparation and sales of prescriptions and other merchandise, answering phones in a timely manner, stocking, ordering, and maintaining front store product, and delivering exceptional patient care.
Other Information:
  • Two years of retail pharmacy technician experience in a leadership role required.
  • Maintain harmonious work relationships.

  • Provide quality customer service. Maintain a clean, appealing pharmacy/retail area free of clutter.
  • Superior oral and written communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Perform well in fast paced environments.

  • Required Pharmacy Technician
Education
  • Required High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)Minimum: High School Diploma, with a minimum of four (4) years of pharmacy experience, including training and demonstrated leadership experience. 
  •  Preferred: Associates degree.
