Job Description
The electrician position works under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Performs electrical troubleshooting. Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, tube system, life safety equipment, and first pass troubleshooting on clinical equipment. Completes maintenance work orders in patient rooms and clinical areas with patients in the room. Will be required to function in the absence of supervision. Consist of three shifts: 1st (0700-1530), 2nd (1500-2300) and 3rd (2300-0700), responsible for providing coverage 7 days/week, 365 days.

  • Operate and maintain various electrical equipment and systems including power and lighting circuits, alarm system, TV systems, communication system, emergency generator and circuits, various medical equipment and motors and controls.
  • Perform regular scheduled inspections of electrical systems and equipment to observe and report operating conditions.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment and document activities with appropriate records.
  • Will supply electrical service and/or electrical apparatus to make a complete system installed in a neat manner and according to the latest national electrical code.
  • Must be able to perform scheduled tasks on "off" shifts.
  • Will take the extra initiative when performing assigned tasks to immediately report or correct a related task outside of the present task.
  • To operate all shop power and hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment in a safe manner.
  • Maintain all electrical shop work areas in a clean and safe manner.
  • Reports inventory usage and need to supervisor as needed. Helps supervisor access inventory needed to complete a project or task.
  • Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental education programs.
  • Attends scheduled maintenance training programs
 
Credentials
  • Required Licensed Master Electrician
 
Education
  • Required High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)
