PTC Awarded National T-Mobile Hometown Grant

We’re thrilled to share that Penobscot Theatre Company has been selected as one of just 25 recipients—out of more than 900 applicants nationwide—to receive a T-Mobile Hometown Grant. This major award will allow us to fully refurbish and modernize our sound system inside the historic Bangor Opera House.
This upgrade is a game-changer for our artists and audiences, bringing richer, clearer, more immersive sound to every performance.
It’s important to note that this grant is restricted solely to the sound-system renovation. It does not cover operating costs, staffing, or the day-to-day expenses required to keep PTC thriving. Those essential costs are supported by our community—people like you who believe in the power of live theatre.
