Troy Industrial Solutions Meets Quality Certification
Requirements for AISC
Requirements for AISC
Brewer, ME - At Troy Industrial Solutions (TIS) Brewer, maintaining high standards of quality and excellence is a priority. One of the ways we demonstrate our commitment to these principles is through the rigorous AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) certification process. It assures our customers that our Quality Management System meets stringent AISC standards and that we are continually improving our processes. This year, the AISC audit took place at TIS Brewer over two full days in October. Audits such as this are comprehensive reviews of our procedures, processes, and their implementation. More specifically, this annual audit involved a thorough examination of various aspects of our Quality Management System.
Under the guidance of TIS Brewer General Manager, Brett MacLean, the success of the audit was a testament to the collective effort of all TIS Brewer employees. Philip Foley, TIS Brewer QC and Safety Manager was primarily involved in the audit process, but it was a team effort where all employees contributed in some capacity. This involvement fosters a shared sense of responsibility and commitment to quality across the organization.
Although TIS Brewer undergoes AISC audits every year, the audit conducted this year was particularly significant as it was the triennial full audit. Unlike the annual audits which focus on specific parts of our Quality Control (QC) manual, the three-year full audit entails a complete review of the entire QC manual. This exhaustive scrutiny ensures that our systems and processes are not only compliant but also effective and efficient.
According to Foley, the QC manual is at the heart of TIS operations. It outlines the procedures and processes that ensure the highest standards of quality. During the audit, the manual was reviewed in its entirety to verify compliance with AISC standards. This included examining our documentation, records, and the implementation of various quality control measures. This certification opens up new business opportunities, particularly in contracts that mandate AISC certification, thereby enhancing our competitiveness in the steel construction industry. We are extremely proud of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our employees, going above and beyond industry standards.
The AISC is a non-partisan, not-for-profit technical institute and trade association, established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry in the United States.
