OHI Gathering Items for Upcoming Christmas Celebration for Residents
OHI provides support to residents across 15 IDD(intellectual disabilities) homes and 8 mental health residential homes, and this year we are hosting a special Christmas celebration for all of them on Friday, December 19th.
We are reaching out to local businesses to kindly request donations that would help make this event memorable and meaningful for our residents. Any contribution—large or small—would be deeply appreciated.
Items we are hoping to gather include:
-
Marshmallow fluff
-
Hot cocoa
-
Jimmies (sprinkles)
-
Chocolate syrup
-
Apple cider
-
Candy canes
-
Finger sandwiches
-
Cheese and cracker trays
-
Fruit platters
-
Veggie platters
-
Cookie-decorating supplies
-
Soda
-
Coffee
Our Christmas event will include reindeer games, popcorn, movies, an ugly sweater contest, cookie decorating, door prizes made by staff, and visits from the Grinch (and his dog), a reindeer, the misfit toys, and the Elf. Most importantly, this celebration gives our residents the chance to come together, socialize, see Santa, and enjoy the holiday in a warm, family-oriented atmosphere.
At OHI, it’s important to us that we bring back the feeling of the “good old days”—a more personal, community-focused holiday celebration that bridges the gap between programs and gives our residents memories they will cherish.
If you would be willing to donate any of the items listed above or contribute in another way(small door prizes), we would be incredibly grateful. We would also be happy to pick up donations at your convenience.
Thank you so much for considering our request and for supporting your local community.
