Bangor, Maine – The Downtown Bangor Partnership is proud to welcome Lougee & Frederick’s to Downtown Bangor.

A trusted name in floral design for over 80 years, Lougee & Frederick’s made the move to 21 Washington Street in April 2025. The relocation marks a significant new chapter for the business, offering an 18,000-square-foot space that supports continued growth and innovation.

Under the leadership of owner Rhoda Burke, Lougee & Frederick’s is expanding its offerings to include a wider selection of cards, green plants, and artisanal products. A larger floral cooler also allows the shop to introduce DIY flower arrangements and hands-on floral design classes, further engaging the community in the joy of floristry.

“We were thrilled to learn that one of Bangor’s most beloved businesses was ready to relocate to Downtown Bangor to grow their business,” said Betsy Lundy, Executive Director of the Downtown Bangor Partnership. “We couldn’t think of a better location for Lougee & Frederick’s – with neighbors like Henry’s Bridal and Quality Jewelers, Lougee & Frederick’s adds to a charming little wedding story right here in Penobscot Plaza.”

Lougee & Frederick’s is also proud to be the only florist in Maine with two AIFD-certified (American Institute of Floral Designers) florists on staff—a distinction that reflects their commitment to quality and creativity.
