Explore the Featured City of Bangor During Maine Craft Weekend
BANGOR, Maine — Discover Bangor, Maine through its makers! Celebrate Bangor’s vibrant craft scene on October 4 & 5 during Maine Craft Weekend, the annual statewide tour of Maine craft artist studios and events. The event promotes awareness and appreciation of craft while supporting local artists and arts organizations across the state.
This year, Bangor is a Featured City for Maine Craft Weekend. Art lovers are invited to:
-
Interact with Maine artists at the Downtown Bangor Fall Sidewalk Art Festival and purchase one-of-a-kind handmade items directly from the artists themselves.
-
Join a community crafting session at One Lupine Fiber Arts
-
Participate in a craft swap at the Bangor Public Library
-
Create a themed craft at 2 Feet Brewing, inspired by Bangor’s most famous author
-
Attend a fancy dress gala celebrating the Bangor Art Society’s 150th anniversary
-

In addition to Bangor’s local events, the weekend features a statewide, self-guided tour, with hundreds of artists opening their studios to the public. Attendees can go behind the scenes to see creative processes in action—a true celebration of craft, community, and creativity.
Visitors can meet makers, explore studios, learn about craft traditions, and purchase one-of-a-kind handmade items directly from the artists themselves.
