Commissioner Baldacci Retires from Penobscot County after 36 years
The County Commissioners Office would like to announce the retirement of long time Commissioner Peter Baldacci after 36 years of dedicated service to the citizens of the County.
Commissioner Baldacci was elected as Commissioner of District 1 (Bangor, Brewer, Clifton, Eddington, Holden, Orrington) in 1986. He will retire as of December 31, 2024 to enjoy time with his family.
The County has benefited from Commissioner Baldacci’s dedication and his institutional knowledge. Under his leadership, the County made many critical decisions, including the creation of a regional dispatch center (PRCC) and the County Administrator position. His thoughtfulness toward employees and citizens alike has been recognized by all. He has made significant efforts to the Sheriff’s Office and the need for a new jail.
His non-partisan approach to issues at hand and willingness to listen, advise and make well thought out decisions has contributed to the success of Penobscot County and will continue to do so for years to come.
We wish Commissioner Baldacci, his wife Debbie and their family many years of togetherness and memories. The County extends a huge thank you to his family for their unwavering support during Commissioner Baldacci’s service.
