Caring for the community by welcoming three infectious disease physicians

Northern Light Infectious Disease Care in Bangor is pleased to welcome three new physicians to care for patients. York Chen, MD; Ahmar Jafary, DO; and Eleanor Stedman, MD, diagnose and treat a variety of infectious disease conditions and share a clinical interest in caring for patients with HIV.

York Chen, MD, earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. He completed an Infectious Disease fellowship at New York University Langone Health in New York, New York. Dr. Chen has a special interest in antimicrobial stewardship and resistance. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, and board eligible in Infectious Disease.
 
Ahmar Jafary, DO, earned his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. He completed an Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Disease fellowship at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. He brings more than 12 years of clinical experience to patients in Maine, and has clinical interests in antibiotic stewardship, travel medicine, and tuberculosis. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Infectious Disease.

Eleanor Stedman, MD, earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine residency at University of Vermont Medical Center, both in Burlington, Vermont. At Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Dr. Stedman completed a fellowship in Infectious Disease. She has a special interest in viral hepatitis, infections related to substance use disorders, infections in immunocompromised individuals, and diagnostic dilemmas. Dr. Stedman is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, and board eligible in Infectious Disease.
