Bangor Communications Leader Dan Cashman Wins Two New England Emmy Awards
BANGOR, Maine — Dan Cashman, Director of Public Relations at Sutherland Weston Marketing Communications and longtime host of The Nite Show with Danny Cashman, has been honored with two Boston/New England Regional Emmy® Awards.
The Nite Show received an Emmy Award in the Interview/Discussion – Short and Long Form Content category for its final episode featuring legendary late-night television host David Letterman. Cashman also received an Emmy Award in the Program Host/Moderator/Correspondent category.
Cashman accepted the awards alongside Executive Producers Luke Bouchard and Rodney Verrill at the 49th Boston/New England Regional Emmy® Awards ceremony.
For many in Maine, Cashman is known as the face of The Nite Show, a program he built over nearly two decades into one of the region's most recognized locally produced television shows. At the same time, he has spent more than a decade helping organizations across Maine tell their stories as a communications strategist and public relations leader at Sutherland Weston.
"The show was always a labor of love," said Cashman. "We had an incredible team, incredible support from the New England School of Communications, and generations of students who helped make something special happen. To have our final episode recognized this way is deeply meaningful. As I said that night, this is proof that you don't have to leave where you live to do cool things."
Throughout his career, Cashman has combined journalism, entertainment, public relations, and community storytelling. The same skills that helped make The Nite Show a regional success have also helped Sutherland Weston clients connect with audiences, navigate communications challenges, and tell authentic stories that resonate.
"Dan's talent has never been a secret to those of us who have the privilege of working alongside him every day," said Elizabeth Sutherland, President and CEO of Sutherland Weston Marketing Communications. "What makes this recognition especially rewarding is that it validates something our clients have experienced for years. Dan has a remarkable ability to find the story, understand the audience, and create meaningful connections. I am incredibly proud of him and grateful that our team and clients get to benefit from that talent every day."
The Nite Show concluded its run in 2025 after 15 years on the air. Produced in partnership with the New England School of Communications at Husson University, the program became a launching pad for countless students while bringing nationally recognized guests and Maine stories to audiences throughout the region.
