Bangor Beautiful & Bangor Region Chamber Announce Major Downtown Community Mural

Bangor, Maine - Bangor Beautiful and the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce are partnering to bring a major new community mural to the heart of downtown Bangor. Maine artist Rachel Gloria Adams will transform the large exterior wall at 2 Hammond Street with a mural incorporating Bangor-inspired patterns created by local artists. Installation is expected to begin September 14, with a community unveiling planned for September 26.
The approximately 67-by-40-foot mural will incorporate Bangor-inspired repeating patterns submitted by local artists through Bangor Beautiful’s community design call. Mural Location: 2 Hammond Street
Adams will draw from the selected designs to create a unified mural celebrating Bangor’s people, architecture, natural environment, and sense of place.
Rachel Gloria Adams is a multidisciplinary artist based in Portland, Maine, known for vibrant, graphic patterns inspired by the natural world, family, textiles, and place. Her work spans painting, quilting, design, and large-scale public murals.
