BANGOR, Maine — Join us on Central Street in Downtown Bangor on Saturday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for the annual Downtown Bangor Fall Sidewalk Art Festival—a signature event of ARTober, Bangor’s month-long celebration of the arts. This free, family-friendly event brings together artists, musicians, food vendors, and the local creative community for an unforgettable day in the heart of the city.

With more artists than ever before and Bangor honored as a Featured City for Maine Craft Weekend, the ARTober festival has made a big move this year—from Harlow Street to Central Street—to better accommodate the growing number of participants and attendees.

More than 75 jury-selected Maine artists from across the state will display and sell their work in nearly every medium, including painting, photography, ceramics, fiber, wood, jewelry, mixed media, metal sculpture, and more. Visitors can meet the artists, learn about their creative processes, and take home one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect Maine’s thriving craft and art scene.

Live acoustic music will fill the festival grounds throughout the day, adding to the vibrant street atmosphere. Festival-goers can enjoy delicious eats from local food trucks and specialty food vendors, and explore the permanent shops and restaurants that make Central Street such a welcoming hub. Many of these businesses also feature gallery walls and artisan goods, with special exhibits of local art on display during the event.

As the cultural heart of Central Maine, Downtown Bangor is home to a growing number of artists, galleries, and arts organizations.
