  • About

The Christine B. Foundation (CBF) is a Bangor-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, striving to support those affected by cancer in the Bangor region and across Eastern Maine. Christine was a mother, sister, active volunteer, and friend to many who lost her battle with stomach cancer at the age of 47. Her family and the Maine community have held onto her legacy and continue to offer direct supports and coordinate care across the 11,500 square miles of Eastern Maine, eliminating burdens caused by cancer.

With a strong network of cancer patients, survivors, families, partner nonprofits, and medical staff working collectively, we're focusing on the following areas of care, offered at no cost.

Cancer Patient Navigation: One-on-one comprehensive coordination of care for patients and their families from point of diagnosis through survivorship.

Nutrition Assistance: Home deliveries of nutrient-dense meals for cancer patients aiming to achieve healthier outcomes through treatment. This pilot program with Eastern Area Agency on Aging will serve cancer patients receiving treatment who reside across Eastern Maine, specifically those in rural, underserved communities.

Collaborative Coordination of Care: CBF aims to improve access to existing resources and reduce health inequities with the implementation of a collaborative cancer resource/support online and call in directory.

Educational Conferences: Hosting the annual Bangor Region Cancer Conference to foster community, highlight cancer resources, and empower those affected by cancer.
