Job Description
Old Town - BASS is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Control Manager as a Direct Hire to oversee quality assurance with our client's high-volume bakery facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest level of company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations for quality and consistency. The Quality Control Manager will work closely with their manufacturing and food safety colleagues to implement quality programs, train staff, and drive continuous improvement across operations. The typical schedule is Monday thru Thursday, 5am-5pm; may require other hours or Friday work depending on the needs of production.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop, implement, and monitor quality control systems and processes for baked goods production.
-Oversee daily quality checks, inspections, and product testing at all stages of production.
-Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including SQF, GMP, and safety procedures.
-Maintain and update quality documentation, including SOPs, specifications, and audit records.
-Lead internal and external audits; address non-conformances and corrective actions.
-Train and coach staff on quality standards, GMPs, and food safety protocols.
-Collaborate with R&D and management teams on developing new products.
-Analyze quality data and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
-Enforce workplace safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance throughout the facility.

-3–5 years of quality assurance/quality control experience required; experience in food manufacturing or bakery environment a plus yet not expected.
-Degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred, yet not required.
-Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF a plus.
-Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
-Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate staff.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software.
