This role is primarily responsible for assisting with payroll processing, benefits administration, as well as onboard administrative related tasks.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for supporting the HR strategy including employee relations, payroll, compensation, recruitment, turnover/retention and benefits for Maine Savings FCU.
- Maintains records, updates, and changes of benefits information; provides assistance to internal members, answers questions, and serves as an information resource.
- Conducts payroll functions, to include submitting payroll, reporting, and reconciliation activities in conjunction with or in the absence of the Payroll Administrator.
- Maintains compliance with all state and federal wage, labor, and leave laws; and assists in the education of staff regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Responds to inquiries concerning employees' payroll deductions, leave accruals, hours, wage garnishments and other related topics; assists with resolution of related problems; troubleshoots errors and assists supervisors with technical matters.
- Assists in the development of standard reports for on-going HR business needs; assists in the development and maintenance of procedure manuals and process documents.
- Assists with development of new and conducts updates to existing job descriptions.
- Conducts and coordinates new hire on-boarding administrative tasks such as data entry and background checks. Processes employee changes (to include position, title, reporting structure, benefits, and compensation).
This role may allow for hybrid remote working environment after successfully completing the training period.
Requirements
Experience/Education:
- SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
- A minimum of one year of related experience required, three+ years preferred.
- At least one year of payroll processing and benefits experience required; multi-state payroll processing experience is preferred. Experience with HR Information Systems is required; Paylocity preferred
- Strong understanding of HR processes, data and best practices including payroll laws, calculations, year-end requirements.
- Experience with 401(k), workers compensation, leave administration and benefits administration is preferred.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply federal and state employment regulations.
