Position Description:
Patient Access Representatives are responsible for guiding patients through the admissions process by screening patients for insurance eligibility, preparing patient information for clinical staff, and answering patient questions.
The Access Representative pre-registers, pre-admits, and admits patients by telephone and/or in person. In this role, you will:
·Be responsible for efficient and accurate collection of demographic and insurance information for registration of patients of all ages
·Review and interpret patient insurance benefit coverages
·Obtain prior authorizations
·Provide financial estimates and collect applicable patient financial liability
·Positively affect the patient’s experience
·Make patients and families aware of hospital policies and procedures
·Speak with patients, families, physicians/office personnel and others to maintain sound community relations

Position Qualifications
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, self-directed professional with:
Excellent communication including ability to write concise, grammatically correct correspondence
Strong customer service skills and compassion for others
Proficient in basic math
Working knowledge and ability to perform accurately and efficiently in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
Willingness to learn medical terminology, insurance benefits, and applicable programs through on the job training
Ability to toggle between multiple computer applications
·Minimum of High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)
Work Hours: Many shifts available!
