Job Summary


The Enterprise Financial Counseling Manager reports directly to the Northern Light Health Associate Vice President of Patient Access. This position serves to improve the overall effectiveness of Revenue Cycle Financial Counseling policies, practices, and technology platforms for all NLH organizations. This leader will ensure a constant and reliable cash flow; maximizing revenue collections, minimizing accounts receivable losses (bad debt) and monitoring that all qualifying accounts are screened for opportunities and that appropriate actions are completed. The primary responsibilities of this role are to serve as an internal subject matter expert and oversee all aspects of daily operations including supervising the activities of the financial counseling team, overseeing the financial investigation to identify payment sources and possible alternatives, and collaborating with integrated departments to assist with obtaining healthcare or financial options for increased patient satisfaction. This position will manage representatives identifying patients that qualify for Medicaid and initiating the application process, facilitating financial assistance applications, and assessing patients for Free Care/Charity Care eligibility. These team members will also be developing patient payment plans for self-pay applicants and assisting with financial arrangements for patient care encounters. The Enterprise Financial Counseling Manager will support, track, manage, and champion Revenue Cycle Patient Access initiatives with emphasis on financial counseling processes and downstream impact, sharing results with key stakeholders. This role will serve as a leading resource in the areas of process improvement, organizational development, change management, performance monitoring, and other analytics. This position will facilitate projects and will apply influential techniques to lead teams toward best practice solutions. Strong communication and leadership skills are required.

Education and Experience

·Bachelor's degree required, or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program

·Five(5) years of progressively responsible management level experience in a similar size and scope organization or system.

·Certified Revenue Cycle Professional certificate preferred.
