Join us and Historian Terry Harper as we explore the captivating and remarkable history of the "Ghost trains" of the Allagash, The people who built and worked on it, and herculean efforts to preserve the locomotives and their place in the mechanization of Maine’s early lumber industry. Completed in 1927 and abandoned in 1933, the locomotives (ghost trains) of the Eagle Lake & West Branch Railroad remain as monuments to a remarkable era in the Maine woods. Come and join us as we hear the captivating story that surrounds these legends of the north woods.
