Early Bird Breakfast May 2017 - UpStart Maine
UpStart Maine with special Guest Matthew Marcus of Kansas City Startup Foundation
Computer programming for the better part of 20 years, Matthew decided in 2010 that it was time to move onto new pastures. Venturing into the startup world was his first step. His previously co-founded startups include KULA Causes, Hoopla.io and Local Ruckus. His current tech venture is 1 Minute Candidate.
As part of his community building efforts, he is Executive Director of Kansas City Startup Foundation (KCSF), as well as, an active co-leader of the Kansas City Startup Village (KCSV).
Matthew’s goals in life include becoming a startup advisor, entrepreneurial mentor, angel investor, and ultimately a professional philanthropist. His mission in life: help make the world a better place before his days are done.
UpStart Maine is a new non-profit that's bringing all of the Bangor region's entrepreneurial programs together to support entrepreneurship from the earliest networking and idea formation stage through incubation and acceleration. Our founding programs include Big Gig, a business pitch competition, Top Gun, an entrepreneurial accelerator, ScratchPad, a smaller, more intensive seed accelerator, and Target Technology Incubator, a business incubator for scaleable start-up companies.
